McCoy & Hiestand Attorneys at Law

What should you do for your injuries after a car accident? You may think you know the proper steps to take, but here is a list to make sure you are doing what you should.

1. If you have any pain at all, make sure to have the EMT evaluate you at the scene.

2. Tell every health care provider every part of your body that is hurting, even if it seems minor at the time.

3. If you have bruising, stitches, casting or evidence of injury, take pictures of it at every stage.

4. Make sure you see the appropriate specialists. Bone injuries require an orthopedist; nerve and head injuries require a neurologist; serious neck, back, and head injuries could require an MRI.

Don’t underestimate how long your injuries could cause you problems. Our hopes are that all your injuries will heal quickly. However if they do not, we always want to make sure you get the treatment you need and the attention you deserve. Be sure to follow these steps to achieve a quicker and healthier recovery!
